Common Questions About Acupuncture Treatments

Frequently Asked Questions

icon-decor-1

Does acupuncture have any side effects?

Acupuncture points tend to be located near nerves. When these points are stimulated, they send a message to the brain and spinal cord, causing the brain to release natural chemicals. These chemicals can alter or eliminate the message of pain being delivered to the brain. This can help people feel better physically and emotionally, thus improving their quality of life.

Is an acupuncturist a legitimate healthcare professional?

Yes. In Arizona, acupuncture practitioners must be licensed, possess a master’s degree, and be able to demonstrate proficiency in a classroom setting and clinical environment. In addition, all licensed acupuncturists must pass board exams in Eastern and Western medicine. Kristi attended a local Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture school for five years before taking three board exams and becoming a licensed acupuncturist.

Patient Testimonials

BEST ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENTS EVER! …

I came to her with pretty severe lower back pain (bulging discs) that had popped up after a long trip. In two treatments I felt markedly better.  The thing that was surprising was that I have not walked well since a bad fall four years ago.  Yet when I leave Harter, I feel more erect and powerful/in control of my gait.  You’ve got to love that!

Don’t waste your money elsewhere!  I will go to Harter Acupuncture for all my treatments from now on.

Kristi’s and her services well exceeded my expectations and alleviated the early signs of carpal tunnel that I was experiencing. I’m so grateful that I stumbled upon her during such a great time of need (mentally and physically) in my life. I definitely consider myself lucky to have the opportunity to benefit from her expertise on a regular basis. I highly recommend entrusting her and her blessed, healing hands to provide a better quality of life to you and yours.

I went to Kristi for the first time today, after injuring my back a week ago. Previous to seeing her, I was in the ER twice and went to see a chiropractor. She took loving time to sit with me and get to know what my body, mind and spirit was working with. She tapped into my energies and offered wonderful insight as to what she could offer me and what would make sense to for immediate pain relief and begin healing at this first visit. She was gentle with her approach, and obviously very well knowledge. I sunk into her care and felt immediate comfort and release of pain. I was relaxed and she explained everything she was doing. I am so glad I went to see her, and scheduled another session before leaving.

Best ever!  I have suffered migraines FOREVER and she was able to make them almost non-existant.  It took 12 sessions, but she has a very affordable treatment plan.  Well worth it!!

So I had the great good fortune to be at the same location as Kristie Harter on July 9th 2021. She had her traveling kit with her. I’ve had a frozen shoulder for five weeks. THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE! My shoulder is MOVING! after just some cupping and needles I can lift my arm! I thought I was going to have to have surgery , seriously WOW! Kristie is the best. I believe I’ve had a miracle! My shoulder was so sore I couldn’t take the pressure of touch. I’ve never lasted a full treatment with any one before, I’m just too sensitive, too hurt. Kristie has the gentlest touch I didn’t notice the needles going in. I feel truly cared for.
Kristi is a great listener and helps get to the root cause. Light touch with needles (good to know). I highly recommended her services!
