Acupuncture

At Harter Acupuncture, we create treatment plans to suit your individual needs. According to modern scientific research, acupuncture needles stimulate neuro-vascular nodes that stimulate healing processes throughout the whole body. This helps with increased blood flow to damaged areas, hormone and endocrine system regulation, endorphin release for pain relief, increased good feelings, and inflammation reduction. A proper combination of acupuncture points can regulate the physiological functions of the major organs in the body.

Initial Treatment and Consultation

Your first appointment includes an in-depth consultation with the acupuncturist, the acupuncture treatment, and you will discuss which treatment plan is the right one for your needs. Acupuncture treatments may include the following free of charge: Gwa Sha, TuiNa massage, Chinese Cupping, Qi Gong instruction, and TCM-based Nutritional Counseling.

Follow-up Acupuncture Treatment

Your follow-up appointment includes a short consultation and evaluation, followed by the acupuncture treatment.

Chinese Medicine

Improve Overall Well-Being

Traditional Chinese Medicine can help improve your overall well-being. Acupuncture and meditation can both be parts of treatment plans to improve quality of life and relieve pain, as well as depression and anxiety. Traditional Chinese Medicine is a form of alternative medicine that looks at the whole being, and helps you attain balance in your mind and body.

Cupping

Cupping is a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that has been used to relieve pain and release toxins for centuries. The cups are placed over the skin in the painful area(s) and the disuse is drawn into the cup which acts as a vacuum. This method releases the fascia, allowing the muscles underneath to relax. Sliding the cup or leaving it stationary for 10 minutes allows the stagnant blood to come to the surface so fresh blood carrying healing nutrients can fill the muscles, relieving pain.

Cupping sometimes leaves behind marks ranging from red to purple coloring, depending on whether you have a stagnation of blood in an area or a lack of blood flow. The marks may last anywhere from a few days to two weeks.

Cupping can be done as a solo treatment, or followed by acupuncture.

Meditation

Meditation is all about relaxation. It is an exploration into yourself, your nature, and the nature around you that helps with stress relief. Studies show that meditation reduces cortisol levels, improves sleep, and taps into your natural endorphins and enkephalins. Meditation can range from simple breathing techniques to lengthy visualizations. At Harter Acupuncture, we offer both group meditation classes and one-on-one classes designed to teach you to relax.

30-Minute Private Meditation Instruction

This personalized meditation instruction will teach you time-tested relaxation techniques based on your personality, environment, and stress-level. This can be a one-time instruction, or an on-going one if you wish to continue meditation in a more structured way.

60-Minute Group Meditation Instruction

Your internal peace and power will be magnified by the group.
